I used to be (in my mind anyway) a cool city boy. I matched my kicks to my t-shirt, my jeans were clean, I drove a Porsche.

Now I live in the country, I drive a ride on lawnmower, match my work boots to my dirty old skinny jeans, have a sunburnt neck and have taken to eyeing up farm machinery on my bike rides.

If you want to follow the numbers more closely I’m on Strava as Rob Cummins Wheelworx or if you’re more of a pictures instead of reading type I post on Instagram as wheelworxrob.

You’ll note they’re no longer called training rides. Anyone who has as many coffee and cake stops as me isn’t training (are you listening Durnin?)

So I passed a huge green tractor the other day while out riding. I am still on the bike occasionally, usually when I’m not digging shit up, cutting shit down or mowing field sized lawns.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the huge green tractor. I looked at it in awe thinking how cool it looked. I was thinking of all of the things that I could dig up/drive over if my tractor was that big…

I know. Big green tractors are not cool. Not to a city boy anyway…

So there I am getting this funny feeling looking at the big green monster tractor and it takes me a minute to identify it.

It’s envy. Fucking tractor envy.

Jesus. I’ll be following tractor and farm machinery accounts on Instagram next…
